MEET US
We are a husband and wife team!
John is a PADI Divemaster and Beri is a PADI and SSI Scuba and Freedive Instructor who became a professional mermaid with Wands and Wishes. When the mermaid company expanded, they needed reliable safety divers to travel with them that knew their performance. Thus we were created! We work along side underwater performers in order to ensure safety and provide a turn-key operation that allows aquarium staff to focus on the large crowds we tend to draw. We operate on a full underwater communication system to provide optimal safety and support to all of our underwater performers which allows them to keep their focus where it should be, making children smile!

Our Employees
We hire and train professional divers to become safety divers who specialize in providing safety and support for mermaid performers. Every employee goes through an intensive 2-day training that covers rescue and safety diver procedures, DPIC protocol, care and use of comm gear, and aquarium etiquette. Every first-time employee is then paired with an experienced employee for on-site orientation and training in order to become thoroughly comfortable with the duties of being a DSP Safety Diver.
Our Equipment
We use top of the line dive equipment to ensure the safety of both the underwater performer and the safety diver. Our full face masks and communication gear are from Ocean Technology Systems. Our underwater speaker and sound board is from Ocean Ears.
